Tribes Tens Galway

Garryowen’s Robin Healy (pic) was the 2010 Tribes Tens top try scorer and points scorer with a superb six tries 0ver the four games. His contribution was vitally important to the Dooradoyle side’s outright victory.

Shannon’s Conor Cunnane notched up four tries for his side over the course ofthe tournament while Ronan Burke and Rory Cunningham from Galwegians had three tries each.

Healy scored a total of 32 points while Ben Sweeney from Garryowen and Conor Cunnane from Shannon finished joint second in the points scoring charts with 18 each. Read the rest of this entry »

Ennis finished as runners up in the inaugural RDJ Glynn 2010 Tribes Tens at Crowley Park. 

The junior club from Clare arrived with a team full of pedigree but faced with the daunting task of taking on three of Ireland’s leading AIL sides.

It didn’t faze them in the sligthest and from the outset they were clearly going to be a force to be reckoned with.

They took their bow in the tournament’s second match and were facing Limerick’s Garryowen. The game turned out to be a superb contest with Robin Healy scoring fort the men in Sky Blue before half time but Ennis fighting back after the break. Read the rest of this entry »

Garryowen U19s played some superb flowing rugby to claim the Crystal Vase for the winners of the inaugural Tribes Tens sponsored by RDJ Glynn Solicitors in Glenina on the final weekend in March.

Garryowen, Shannon, Ennis and host Galwegians were the participants in the inaugural event which it is hoped will become a permanent fixture in the under 19 rugby calendar.

The superbly organised event took place over four hours at Crowley Park in the heart of Galway city and players from all teams reveled in the extra space afforded to them by the ten aside format. Read the rest of this entry »
